She inched her way around several sleeping mounds of bodies, then knelt down beside her friend. Bending close to Durah's ear, Kiriki whispered her name, glad that Durah was not one to become alarmed easily. Durah's eyes opened quickly. She turned silently to Kiriki. Kiriki placed a finger to her friend's lips, encouraging silence between them, and nodded toward the door.
Half stumbling, Kiriki moved away from him. She was torn with feelings. She now understood what the word desire meant.
