Por ejemplo, en el distrito Rakai de Uganda, las muertes ocasionadas por el SIDA han causado escasez de mano de obra en las labores agricolas y domesticas. En 2001, 14 millones de niiios menores de 15 aiios habian perdido a uno o ambos padres debido a1 VIH/SIDA.
